Meet Dr. Torkelson

Dr. Joel Torkelson, DVM

Dr. Torkelson has come to us via a very interesting journey! He is originally from Regina (and yes, he is a Saskatchewan Roughriders fan), where he completed a degree in Biology with honours in 1994. He went on to complete a Masters of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the University of Alberta in 1997. Not quite done being a student, Joel went to Saskatoon and completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.

He initially practiced in Airdrie, Alberta then Martensville, Saskatchewan before returning to Alberta to practice in Sherwood Park and Edmonton. Dr.Torkelson has been with the Beck Veterinary team since 2015.
